Yearly ISEF “Motivation” Tour and Seminar

This tour will not be held in 2014.

INTEL ISEF 2013 will be held in Phoenix, Arizona from Sunday, May 12 to Friday, 17th.  Dr. Choi and Mrs. Monica Lee will be one of the Grand Award Judges again this year.

Grand Award judging will end on Wednesday and Dr. Choi accompanied with Mrs. Monica Lee will conduct an 1. Academic Tour for the students in the morning and 2. Seminar in the afternoon both on Thursday, May 16  Dr. Choi will guide students through various projects and explain the science behind the research, what was well done, and what could be improved on those projects so that the students will have a clear vision on how they will do their own research in the future. He will answer all questions and suggest research topics based on the students’ interests. Students will also be able to meet and ask questions to the finalists.

1. Academic Tour  

Purpose   Experience first-hand the Science Fair and see what type of research projects get to be in the finals.
Applicable Grades   7th and 8th graders will benefit the most as they have enough time to start having interest in science research. 9th graders will benefit only if they are already interested in science research and want to learn more about the specifics of the winning research.

Number of Participants  10 students (7th ~ 9th Grades) maximum.
Tuition  $250.00 per student (Free for parents); there will be no refund after
May 9th, 2013.
Deadline  May 5 or when 10 students register.  Whichever comes first

Note: The above expense does not include airfare or hotel. Transportation and lodging are   students’ responsibility.  Students are expected to show up at the designated location at the sessions’ time, and the tour start from that moment. The designated location will be notified later.

2. Seminar – at Phoenix, AZ

    • One hour open question discussion session

  • Audience: Students and Parents of 5th to 10th graders
  • Title: How to have it all, including parties, and go to top universities only for students interested in math/sciences.
  • Lecturer: Dr. James Choi
  • Panel Discussions: Dr. James Choi and Mrs. Monica Lee
  • Language: Mainly in Korean but can also deliver in English
  • Cost:
